This month I presented at the California Association of Gifted on this topic and received great reviews. It focused on how to keep students engaged with this rapid change. We explored how change has impacted engagement for over fifty years. Those that survive and thrive during change possess a backpack of strategies. When students have strategies for dealing with the fear and anxiety related to change they are less likely to experience these feelings when faced with rapid change. Their world is going to change exponentially faster every day. The abrupt change of COVID left students still suffering with side effects because they lacked remedies for this disruption in their lives.
